Producing materials that promise on paper and perform in the real world is as much art as it is science. The creation of a new product for a specific application begins with a search of our proprietary technology database. Here is the history of thousands of compositions that have shown significant mechanical and performance properties. Included are the hundreds of engineered polyolefins that we have taken into commercial production.

Working in laboratory scale, our research people are equipped to synthesize polymers, to characterize a material at the molecular level, to produce sample lots, and to demonstrate bulk properties. Larger batches of promising materials are produced on pilot-line equipment. Test samples or actual parts are produced for evaluation of vital performance criteria. Weathering and color testing are performed for materials intended for unpainted or partially painted applications.

This process has resulted in a broad range of advances in our product portfolio. We have enhanced surface performance, improving paint adhesion, UV stability, and surface durability. We have balanced mechanical and rheological behavior, yielding materials for lightweight, thin-wall applications, or for those requiring excellent dimensional stability, or for superior processing — with reduced cycle times, lower injection pressures, quick release, and enhanced aesthetics.
